Fans' tribute wows Venter ahead of exit

HENCO VENTER admits hearing the Glasgow Warriors fans sing his name was a career highlight.

The South African will head to France in the summer as Scottish Rugby reduces the number of foreign players in the game.

Venter admits it’s tough to have to move on but accepts the reasons why. And the Warrior Nation showed they were sad to see him go too with their chants at the end of last Friday’s win over the Stormers.

The 33-year-old said: “That was emotional. You'd never think that would happen. I actually didn’t know what to do when they were singing my name.

“It was special, very special. To receive something like that is one of the highlights of my career.

“My family was there and it was televised in South Africa so my whole family saw it — it was just like they were here.
