MOTHERWELL 2 PETERHEAD 1
LUKAS FADINGER headed home in added time to hand Jens Berthel Askou his first win as Motherwell boss - but it only came after the topflight hosts survived a major scare against League One’s Peterhead.
A huge upset was on the cards when Jack Brown stunned Fir Park with a ninth-minute opener.
But a thumping Emmanuel Longelo strike on 28 minutes pulled Well level before Fadinger headed home Callum Slattery’s cross in the 91st minute to spare their blushes.
In what was the first competitive fixture between the two sides since 1950,the visitors made up for lost time with a performance to be proud of against Premiership opposition.
For Well, it was another display that will leave Askou with plenty to ponder at the back, as they sit second in Group G behind Morton.
