McInnes relishing Parkhead curtain closer

DEREK McINNES has urged his Hearts side to hold up their end of the title race bargain and make sure their final day trip to Parkhead is a blockbuster occasion.

The table-topping Jambos learned yesterday that they will have to go to Celtic Park for this year's Premiership finale, while second-placed Rangers head to Falkirk after the post-split fixtures were announced.

With a one-point lead at the summit, the Tynecastle outfit remain the team to beat but McInnes knows that advantage is frail after Sunday's slip-up at Livingston.

Some Hearts supporters have reacted with fury after their side were denied a home game on the final day despite tradition dictating that the team out in front at the split get the honour of playing their last game in front of their own fans.

SPFL chiefs say that isn't possible this year because of the three-horse race that also involves Martin O'Neill's Hoops and a Rangers squad resurgent under Danny Rohl.
