Conversion is simply divine

IT COULD be the majestic architecture, the glorious stained glass windows or unexpectedly peaceful atmosphere that makes living in a converted chapel attractive to so many of us. Certainly, Woodlands Chapel in Hampshire’s South Downs National Park is the perfect example with its eye-catching flint and brick exterior, red-tiled roof, elegant spire and gorgeous cottage garden.

- By Deborah Stone

Conversion is simply divine

The Victorian chapel was built around 1889 but is now a unique three/four-bedroom home surrounded by fields in Bramdean, a pretty hamlet close to Alresford market town.

The chapel was restored by its current owners, who have retained the wonderful stained-glass windows, restored the wooden vaulted ceiling and installed covetable modern features such as a Neptune fitted kitchen with granite worktops, log burner and double doors into the garden.
