Departing coach will leave 'huge' legacy

- By Adam Hathaway

OLLIE CHESSUM insists the Michael Cheika feel-good factor will stand Leicester in good stead long after the head coach has gone.

Former Australia coach Cheika leaves Tigers after today’s Premiership final against Bath, having kick-started a Welford Road revival in his single season at the helm.

He rode to the rescue after Leicester sacked fellow Australian Dan McKellar last summer following an eighth-place finish in the Premiership.

A multi-millionaire through the fashion industry, Cheika’s first message to the squad was that he did not need the job but just loved coaching - and now Tigers are one step away from being English champions.
