Maior coup if Gers hire Ancelotti, says Courts
HIS CV so far reads Paris SaintGermain, Napoli, Bayern Munich, Everton and Real Madrid.
But up until now, his surname has been the most recognisable thing about Davide Ancelotti.
That could be about to change if the 35-year-old Italian is appointed as the next Rangers manager.
And one Scottish coach who knows Ancelotti better than most reckons he's finally ready to step out from the shadow of his legendary father Carlo and shine at Ibrox.
Real Madrid's No.2 is the latest coach to be linked with the Gers job, with Ancelotti under consideration from prospective new American owners 49ers Enterprises.
While Carlo prepares to swap the Bernabeu for the Brazil national team hotseat, his son has switched agents and appears certain to become a manager in his own right.
It would be an ambitious appointment by Rangers but former Dundee United boss Tam Courts believes his good friend Ancelotti could be an inspired choice.
He met the Italian while the pair did their UEFA Pro Licence course through the Welsh FA. They hit it off and have stayed in touch ever since.
And Courts, now working at Saudi Pro League club Al-Qadsiah, says Ancelotti junior has the character and personality to handle life in Glasgow and insists top players will be keen to work under him.
He also revealed that Ancelotti has always taken a keen interest in Scottish football.
