Cash ISAs are still king as Brits pay in £14bn in April

CASH ISAs are now more popular than ever as savers race to use as much of their annual £20,000 allowance as they can in case Chancellor Rachel Reeves cuts it.

Households paid a record-breaking £14billion into Cash ISAs in April, new Bank of England figures show, the highest monthly number since the accounts were launched in 1999.

Higher interest rates and more savers paying tax on non-ISA cash savings have contributed to the surge.
