McGregor: Unity is vital with Euro tie in the balance
CALLUM McGREGOR has pleaded for unity amid supporter unrest at Celtic.
Chants of “sack the board” rang round Celtic Park on Wednesday night as Brendan Rodgers’ side suffered a major setback in their bid to reach the Champions League proper.
They face a testing trip to Kazakhstan next Tuesday to try and secure their place in the league phase after a frustrating 0-0 draw against Kairat Almaty in the playoff first leg.
But fans are furious at the Parkhead hierarchy’s lack of business in the transfer market and unloaded on chairman Peter Lawwell and chief executive Michael Nicholson on a toxic evening in the east end of Glasgow.
But captain McGregor says the players need to shut out the noise and everyone at the club has to rally together.
He said: "We have to stick together. The strength of this club has been when we're together. [We've had] so many good moments.
