Blenheim £4.75m gold toilet thieves jailed

TWO men have been jailed for their roles in the theft of a £4.75million gold toilet from Blenheim Palace.

Five thieves were involved in the raid to rip out the fully functioning 18-carat gold toilet following a glamorous party at the Oxfordshire stately home.

James Sheen, 40, a career criminal from Wellingborough, Northants, has been jailed for four years and Michael Jones, 39, from Oxford, was given a two-and-a-half-year term.

Three men have now been sentenced for their parts in the heist in September 2019.

But others remain under investigation and no trace of the toilet has ever been found, apart from gold flecks on a pair of tracksuit bottoms.

Jones was found guilty of burglary after a trial at Oxford Crown Court in March. Sheen admitted before trial to burglary, conspiracy to transfer criminal property and transferring criminal property.
