'2024 was the hardest year I've ever had...life is sent to test us as well'
Scottish Daily Express
|September 27, 2025
The prince's latest comments echo remarks he made during a visit to Cape Town last year.
-
Asked how 2024 was, he replied: “It’s been dreadful. It’s probably been the hardest year in my life.
“So, trying to get through everything else and keep everything on track has been really difficult.”
Proud
William had continued then: “I’m so proud of my wife, I’m proud of my father, for handling the things that they have done. But from a personal family point of view, it’s been brutal.”
His newly released candid comments to Levy during their tour of Windsor also come at a poignant time for the prince’s family.
They have lived at historic Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor Estate since 2022, having relocated from Apartment 1A within Kensington Palace.
