What to do for a successful New Year

Last year was full of trials, tribulations, joys, and good times for just about all of us. Each of us has had happy moments we want to remember for years and sad moments we wish to forget.

But through it all, the Lord our God kept us wrapped in His arms of protection, and we should be able to say, regardless of what happened last year, "THANK YOU, JESUS, you've been so good to me!" I believe this New Year can and will be a good year if everyone of us would do the following: First, learn to always put the Lord in everything we do. If it had not been for the Lord on our side, where would we be? We should seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness first, and all things shall be added unto us. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.

Second, we need to forget our past sins. All of us have sinned and come short of the glory of God. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just, willing to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If God can forgive us, we need to learn to love ourselves enough to do the same.
