National Inventors Hall of Fame seeks nominations of world-changing inventors

The National Inventors Hall of Fame®, in partnership with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, is seeking nominations for Black inventors to be inducted into its upcoming class.

Nominees must hold a U.S. patent for an invention that has significantly contributed to the advancement of science, the useful arts, and the welfare of our nation. The Hall of Fame is looking for candidates whose patented work is extraordinary in their field, widely used, and has made a significant impact on the world.

Notable Black Inductees include:

- Robert Bryant, LaRC-SI (Langley Research Center-Soluble Imide): A NASA chemist, Bryant developed a polymer called LaRC-SI, which has been applied as an insulation material for leads in implantable cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) devices.
