Why a couple chose a vegan wedding — despite not being vegan

One Redditor shared her experience on the Wedding Shaming forum after attending a friend's wedding that unexpectedly went all-vegan.

The twist, however, was that neither the bride nor the groom was vegan.

“A good friend of mine from college was about to get married, which I was happy and excited for,” she wrote.

But things got strange a few weeks before the big day.

“She calls to tell me that the wedding will be vegan. She wanted me not to tell my partner because she was afraid he wouldn't go.”

She reassured the bride, noting that while her partner had the “palate of a four-year-old,” he was still an adult and could handle one night of vegan food.

“Of course he would come,” she said.
