NATIONAL TREASURE
CAPE Town’s Table Mountain has been celebrated as one of the world’s most beautiful.
According to a recent study conducted by Just Cover, an Irish travel insurance company, Table Mountain ranked 14th on the list of the globe's most stunning mountains.
The study analysed 56 mountain ranges worldwide, employing eye-tracking technology to determine which landscapes are the most visually captivating. The mountains were scored based on how quickly they captured participants’ attention and how long they held their gaze. In this analysis, Table Mountain achieved a score of 62.6 out of 100.
The flat-topped landmark that overlooks Cape Town is renowned for its distinctive “tablecloth” cloud, rich biodiversity, particularly its fynbos vegetation, hiking trails and a modern revolving cable car that transports visitors to its summit.
This ancient mountain, part of the Cape Fold belt, offers breathtaking views and a unique ecosystem within the Table Mountain National Park.
