Exciting season in Level 6 lies ahead

ANOTHER piece of the rugby jigsaw has fallen into place for Widnes RUFC, with the announcement of the teams who will make up Regional 2 North West for 2025/26.

This is an exciting time for the ‘red-and-blacks’ who survived their first season at level 6 for nearly a decade. This time, though, things will be even tougher as they will no longer be the surprise package of the competition. On the plus side, however, they will have almost a full squad to choose from following the early loss of key players such as captain Tom O'Neill and Jamie Patient.

The new teams coming in are; Birkenhead Park (relegated from R2NW) West Park (promoted from the adm Premier League) and North Ribblesdale (promoted from Yorkshire 1).

The three teams moving out of R2NW from last season are; Bowdon (promoted), Eccles and Crewe & Nantwich (both relegated).
