Olympic kids are game for funtime

Although there were no gold medals, the children delighted in taking part in everything from adventure golf to football, dancing to sprinting round the track at Marl Pits in Rawtenstall.

The Rossendale School Sports Partnership event was designed as a celebration event organised by School Games Organiser Nathan Bibby.

On the day there were some winners - St James the Less RC School, Rawtenstall, won the athletics, with St Peter's RC School, Newchurch, second and Thorn Primary, Bacup, third.

There were also football winners with Holy Trinity Stacksteads first, second was Cribden House School and third St James the Less.

Nine providers ran events - everything from Alternative Adventures running, archery and climbing and Wheels Extreme running Skateboarding, scootering and BMX to dancing with Fusion Dance and Fitness.
