THE day started with a showcase match of flowing rugby between Rochdale U14 and a strong Harrogate U14.
Then came a celebration of two lives, Duncan Ogilvie and Bill Hopkinson, two of RRUFC’s most dedicated and appreciated who recently passed. It was a truly moving moment for all concerned.
Good weather and a pitch in fantastic condition paved the way for a game played in good spirit by two teams that were respective league winners.
Early pressure by Middlesbrough led to an unconverted try, 0-5.
An injury to Jonny Bradley ten minutes in led to the introduction of Dougie Poole.
