Today, once again, speculation is rife that the U.S. may soon reduce the 25% tariff imposed on Indian goods. India's Chief Economic Advisor, Anant Nageswaran, has even hinted that the rollback could come by the end of November, with talks already underway. Yet, optimism remains guarded. President Donald Trump has repeatedly unsettled India: even while publicly calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi a "friend," his administration has imposed policies that cut deep into India's economic and strategic interests.
