The true message of the Bhagavad Gita
Post
|May 21, 2025
“FIGHT, but do not hate,” the POST, May 7 - 11, refers.
Is the writer Shivash Haricharan merely using a Hindu name? His take on the Bhagavad Gita convinces me that the writer understood the words, but missed the meaning.
The message to Arjuna was to uplift his spirits and to look at the issue holistically. Arjuna’s dharma was to fight, and fight bravely, to the best of his ability. He was vacillating, unsure whether he should carry out his clearly defined dharma or ponder the karma of his action, that is the result of his action.
Following his dharma would result in bloodshed, slaughter and social upheaval inevitable in all wars, plus the destruction of members of his extended family: he would be fighting his own cousins.
