'Stronger action against GBVF'

Leading political parties in the province have called on the judiciary, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) and the police to ensure a swift and significant reduction in crimes against women and children.
The call follows President Cyril Ramaphosa's declaration on November 27, during the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children campaign, that gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF) is a national crisis, unlocking additional funding, legal and administrative frameworks for urgent intervention.
