Owner to sell in preparation for retirement

- STAFF REPORTER

A Perthshire golf club has been put on the market with an asking price in excess of £1.65million.

Strathmore Golf Centre, Alyth, hosted the PGA National 4 Ball Championship this year, the first time the event had been staged in Scotland since 1989.

It has started work on reinstating its previously approved plans for hotel, holiday and leisure facilities, whilst seeking to find suitable new owners to take the facility to its next stage of development.

Owned and operated by family and business partners, David Norman, together with Peter and Simon Howell for the past 20 years, and set over 79.32ha, the centre has previously achieved outline planning permission to develop a range of onsite leisure facilities and tourist accommodation.

David Norman said: "It's known that we are ultimately looking to sell the centre in preparation to retire.
