School ends the term on high note
People’s Post Claremont & Rondebosch
|July 15, 2025
THIS WAS MORE THAN JUST A CONCERT; IT WAS A SHOWCASE OF THE SCHOOL SPIRIT.
Cannons Creek Independent High School brought the curtain down on Term 2 in spectacular style with its first-ever variety concert. The event was a vibrant celebration of talent, unity and creativity, showcasing the best of the school's cultural calendar.
Centred on the spirit of Mandela Day, the evening began with a powerful video of Johnny Clegg performing “Asimbonanga”, joined on stage by “late former President Nelson Mandela”. This moving tribute set a heartfelt tone for the rest of the programme. Surrounding the stage was a display on the same theme by the school’s History Society and Photographic Society, while the Interact group collected hygiene boxes for Lerato’s Hope.
