Team sweep up national award title for litter picks

A Renfrewshire Council-run campaign that aims to make the area a more attractive place to live and visit has landed an award from a national charity.
The Team Up to Clean Up initiative has been recognised by Keep Scotland Beautiful for recording the highest number of litter picks during its Big Spring Clean earlier this year.
Of the 2,763 carried out across the country by 34,027 participants, a total of 262 took place in Renfrewshire with 312 volunteers taking part in the events.
Elected members commended the campaign's success at a meeting of the council’s communities and housing policy board.
