Donnelly delighted after penalty in shoot-out helps bring Rugby Park boo boys to their knees
Liam Donnelly admitted it was sweet to silence the Kilmarnock boo boys as he helped fire St Mirren to a Hampden semifinal against Motherwell.
The experienced midfielder made his competitive debut for the Buddies on Friday night against his old club.
Donnelly was a late substitute at Rugby Park but ended up playing more than 45 minutes after his side's Premier Sports Cup quarterfinal went the distance.
With the sides locked at 2-2, a penalty shootout was required and Donnelly assumed responsibility from 12 yards.
The Northern Irishman was booed and jeered as he made his way from the centre circle but kept his cool to beat keeper Max Stryjek.
