Boss Robinson eyeing tactical change before end of the campaign

- TAYLOR MURRAY

Stephen Robinson has hinted that a formation change could be on the cards for St Mirren next season.

The Northern Irishman has largely adopted a variation of 3-5-2 at the club, with the Saints boss swapping it around to be more attacking or defensive depending on the game.

The shape has allowed him to get the best out of his fullbacks offensively, as well as have an additional centre back at the back to offer reinforcement when defending.

But now, looking ahead to next season, Robinson is planning to swap to his favoured formation, a 4-3-3, one which he adopted during his Motherwell days.

The 51-year-old says he now has players in the squad which will, in the coming months, pave the way for a new style of football.
