Rival demonstrators drown out each other in town centre protest

Protesters and counter-demonstrators battled to be heard over one another after clashing in Paisley town centre at the weekend.

Multiple groups turned up to County Square on Sunday afternoon, with music playing, chanting, and speeches made.

A protest was organised by the paedophile hunter group, Fighting Justice Against Predators (FJAP), to “take our streets back” between noon and 4pm.

The group said they were campaigning against an “epidemic of child exploitation that’s in full swing in the UK”

They had originally planned for it to take place outside the Watermill Hotel, Paisley, where asylum seekers are housed, and which was the target of a far-right rally last summer.
