Paisley Radio chief handed global award for leadership
Paisley Daily Express
|January 12, 2026
A CEO of a local radio station has been recognised globally for his leadership.
Paul Wycherley, founder of Paisley Radio, has received a 2026 Global Recognition Award for sustained excellence in radio broadcasting, structured mentoring and inclusive training that brings underrepresented voices into media.
The selection process is highly competitive with more than 15,000 entrants each year.
Since launching in 2020, the station has won six awards - five of which were received in 2025 following a successful year.
Having started initially as just a small station broadcasting to the people of Paisley, it has now reached people from all around the world.
It was estimated last year that, globally, around seven million listeners a month tune into Paisley Radio.
And it is this success - along with Paul's record in leadership, teaching and mentoring - that reflects a systematic approach to work over many years that has led him to the prestigious award.
