Andy Bollen's memoir The Birth, Death and Resurrection of Oasis has gone supersonic since release

- MICHAEL PRINGLE

A book by a Coatbridge author who was there the night Oasis were "discovered" while performing at Glasgow's King Tut's has been flying off the shelves as the band returned to Scotland.

Andy Bollen was on hand during that iconic moment, and his recently-released book Definitely Maybe: The Birth, Death and Resurrection of Oasis tells the inside story of that night at the venue.

The memoir is based around the night Alan McGee first heard Oasis, which led to them being offered a record deal.

"It's been pretty mental the last few months, Andy said.

"In a nice way. It's doing well and flying off the shelves.

I suppose the book's gone supersonic.

"I've been busy doing in-store signings, podcasts and radio shows. It feels like something special is happening."

Andy had been involved in bands before turning to writing, and also penned a book about touring with Nirvana.
