Ladies streets ahead when it comes to art

Organised by Mortar Projects, the event brought together artists of varying experience levels - from emerging creatives to seasoned pros - to paint the blank canvas of walls at Westway industrial estate.

The women, including locals from Renfrew and Paisley, came together to collaborate and paint in an art form that is often dominated by men.

Explaining the event was an opportunity to paint in a supportive environment, organiser Cheryl Galbraith, of Mortar Projects, said: "It's not just about painting, it's about community, support and giving women the confidence to express themselves publicly, without fear of being judged or hassled.

"This space at Westway has allowed us to create something really special."

The paint jam transformed a section of the industrial park, situated next to Glasgow Airport, into a vibrant canvas, showcasing a wide range of styles and ideas.
