Labour secures future of industry

With my background in the trade union movement, I have always understood the impact that a thriving industry can make in securing positive employment for our country’s people.

With over a decade of Tory and SNP mismanagement, I've seen our national industries mismanaged, underfunded, unsupported, and left to waste away, having a devastating impact on the working industrial communities up and down Britain.

We all remember the devastating impact of Thatcher's Britain on our heavy industries. But quietly, over the past 14 years, the Tories have wreaked the same devastation on industrial communities, allowing the foundations of British industry to crumble. At the same time, the SNP have absconded responsibility, simply watching from the sidelines at the decline of Grangemouth Oil Refinery.

This Labour government is uniquely unafraid to be - at once - the party of workers; the party of industry; and the party of climate responsibility.
