Charity opens its unique home and giftware shop in Causeyside Street
A beautiful space selling wares from local artists marks the latest phase in the mass refurbishment of the Art Department's new Causeyside Street Home.
The charity, which took tenure of the former Argos building earlier in January-has marked its first six months with the launch of its very own art, home and giftware shop.
The space, created at the front of the heritage building, features handmade goods by a wealth of local makers, while also stocking household names.
It is the latest offering from the organisation which is seeking to create a cultural hub at the heart of the town - a space for artists to sell their wares alongside studio and gallery space and crucially a place where everyone irrespective of ability is encouraged to get creative.
Steven Thomson, creative director at The Art Department, said: "We're delighted to be opening our new store and invite Paisley shoppers to come along and see our fantastic range our colourful candy counter of wonderful delights is fully stocked for the people of Paisley.
"We have everything from unique studio pottery, contemporary china, artwork from local artists, potters and glass artists which sit well alongside well-known names like Habitat, Conran, Eleanor Bowmore and Orla Kiely-many of these brands are exclusive to The Art Department and won't be found anywhere else in the town.
