A small Paisley company was making a big noise with miniature models of canons and artillery guns.

It was big bang time for AMD Engineering in September 1978 as co-partners William Dick and Donald McClean were due to complete their largest order yet.
It was for two scaled-down models of a navy cannon, and although reduced to a third of the actual size, the cannons still weighed more than five hundredweights each.
