The unveiling of a new Cruyff Court in Renfrew has taken place following the transformation of a rundown multi-use games area (MUGA) into a modern sports facility.
Pitch perfect: Willie Young with youngsters at the court
School children took to the slick artificial pitch - named after and opened by Rangers hero Michael Mols - for a football festival at Kirklandneuk Pavilion in Ness Road on Wednesday, May 13.
The project, spearheaded by Renfrew Victoria Youth Football Club, has come to fruition after planning permission was granted by Renfrewshire Council in September 2024.
Stuart Wild, club chairman, said: "The opening marks the culmination of two years of planning and construction, delivering a fantastic facility that is used daily by dozens of local children for football and other sports.
"Our huge thanks go to the expert project management of local man David Dickinson from Sports Labs, Cammy Watt and his team at the Scottish FA, and Simon Wood from the Johan Cruyff Foundation.
