Robbo hails Man Utd loanee as a special find

St Mirren boss Stephen Robinson admits Man Utd loan star Jacob Devaney was worth ripping up his transfer rulebook for.

The manager has largely avoided taking on first-time loan players, but he insists in this case the teenager's talent and maturity changed his mind.

The 18-year-old is getting his first taste of senior football at the club after swapping Manchester United for St Mirren in January, where he joined on a six-month loan deal.

The Manchester United Under-21 player made his debut against Hearts when Robbo threw him straight into the starting eleven against the league leaders, with the youngster impressing in the 70 minutes he featured.

And just three days later, in the Scottish Cup, he notched his first senior goal against Airdrieonians with a wonderful strike.
