Staff and regulars step up for Beatson fundraiser

Buddies at a Paisley pub are lacing up their trainers and putting their best foot forward for a great cause.

Staff and regulars from The Abbey Inn will be tackling the Off the Beatson Track event with vital funds raised going to the Beatson Cancer Charity.

It is a charity they have raised money for in the past — but this year they have gone bigger than ever.

After joining the event for the first time last year with around 30 participants, the pub's community spirit has seen their numbers more than double with almost 70 people signed up to walk side by side this time.

Hundreds of pounds has already been generated ahead of the Sunday, August 24 fundraiser.

And staff, customers and friends from other Stonegate pubs in the area will come together on the day to raise funds and awareness for the Beatson.
