Demolition plans moving forward

Plans to demolish old housing stock in Paisley as part of a major regeneration programme have taken a step forward.

Regeneration Flats in Ladyburn Street are to be razed to the ground

Eleven blocks will be knocked down at Ladyburn Street, Howard Street and McKerrell Street in the Seedhill area of the town.

The project will go ahead as intended after it was announced Renfrewshire Council does not need prior approval for it.

In an official decision notice issued last week, it was confirmed the method of demolition and site restoration was considered “acceptable.”

Once the land in question is cleared, the local authority could use it to create a new community space as it progresses its significant renewal project.
