A fundraiser for a much loved Paisley schoolboy has surpassed £11,000 after his sudden death.

- RUTH SUTER

Connor Gray, 14, sadly passed away on Wednesday, November 26. The teenager had been a pupil at Paisley Grammar School and played football with St Peters 2011s. Following his untimely death, his team set up a Crowdfunding page to support his loved ones.

A statement from the club reads online: "St Peters FC want to raise funds to give to Connor's family so they can put it towards a memorial, charity or whatever they believe is appropriate, to honour Connor.

"A brave and wonderful young man who has sadly gone but will never be forgotten."

Tributes poured in for the schoolboy following the news of his death last week.

He was remembered as being a “lovely” young man with a “radiant” smile.
