Calls to fix DWP 'failings'

Vulnerable benefit claimants must be better protected by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), Johanna Baxter MP has said.

The MP for Paisley and Renfrewshire South has called for better safeguarding for vulnerable people after a review found some had taken their own lives following harsh interactions with the department.
Ms Baxter, who sits on the House of Commons work and pensions select committee, spoke out after it found the number of investigations into serious failings within the department had more than doubled in recent years.
