Bulldozers move in on West End regeneration

Two large properties have been razed to the ground in the latest phase of the Paisley West End regeneration.

Demolition crews moved diggers on Underwood Lane and Well Street as they demolished the first of a series of buildings which are set to be torn down over the next six months.

Properties on Clavering Street East, Well Street and Underwood Lane will all be cleared to make way for new-build social housing.

This phase of work is the latest instalment of Renfrewshire Council's multi-million pound Paisley West End Regeneration Masterplan, which was first mooted nine years ago.

It seeks to regenerate the area with new residential homes to create a neighbourhood with much greater access to the town centre.
