Bowling club’s 150th anniversary marked

Renfrewshire Council has congratulated Elderslie Wallace Bowling Club after it marked its "quite remarkable" 150th anniversary earlier this year.

The milestone was recognised at full council on Thursday-months after a civic reception took place to allow the club to celebrate.
A motion was put forward by Councillor Iain McMillan, a Labour representative for Johnstone South and Elderslie, and seconded by Councillor Andy Steel, an SNP representative for the same ward.
It stated:"Council congratulates Elderslie Wallace Bowling for reaching its 150th anniversary earlier this year.
"Council recognises the significant role the club plays within the community of Elderslie and the part it plays in improving the health and wellbeing of local people.
