Wet weather frustrated Ferguslie Cricket Club for the second week in a row - with their latest Western Premiership One match abandoned three hours after the scheduled start.

The conditions also caused the postponement of the Spirit of Cricket Trophy clash between the two sides in memory of two former players, Con de Lange and Sandy Strang, who represented both clubs.

It has been suggested the trophy will be awarded to the side winning the return league match later in the season.

The club had otherwise enjoyed a comparatively successful week having defeated Ayr in the Scottish Cup to move into the quarter-finals.

Ferguslie will play the winners of the tie between Prestwick and Uddingston at Meikleriggs on Sunday, June 22.

After a rain-off in the McCulloch Cup (T20) last Wednesday, 24 hours later Ferguslie met Glasgow High-Kelvinside in another Rowan Cup T20 fixture.

GHK were bowled out for a meagre 39 runs before a shaky batting performance saw them win through by five wickets.
