Judge berates paedophile for wearing poppy badges on coat

A JUDGE said he was "not impressed" after spotting what a vile paedophile wore to court before jailing him.

- BY JON MACPHERSON

Kenneth McNabb's "secret" was exposed 30 years on - and some of the offences were committed in the Skelmersdale area, with the victim labelling McNabb a 'monster'.

McNabb, 74, was handed a six-and-a-half-year sentence after being convicted of sexually assaulting three different children and repeatedly being caught with sick collections of child abuse images.

One of his victims has bravely spoken out, recounting how the paedophile "put him through hell and didn't have the balls to admit what he did".

Judge David Swinnerton berated the army veteran's choice to wear not just one but two poppies on his coat, interpreting this as a ploy to curry favour, and judged his expressions of remorse to ring "rang hollow", noting his failure to take "opportunity after opportunity" to change.

Liverpool Crown Court heard that the complainant was in his early teens when he was sexually assaulted by McNabb on two occasions during the 1990s. These offences were committed in the Skelmersdale area.

Christopher Taylor, prosecuting, said it was "many years before he spoke about the sexual abuse to anyone". He ultimately disclosed the matter to a police officer in the back of a patrol car, having become "visibly upset" when arrested in relation to a motoring offence.
