'Ultimate' captures 1st images of distant galaxies

Spectacular images of distant galaxies, vast dust clouds, and fast-moving asteroids have been captured by the Vera C Rubin Observatory in Chile, marking the start of an ambitious 10-year survey of the cosmos.
The $810 million (£595 million) telescope, located on Cerro Pachón in the Chilean Andes, is set to transform astronomy by compiling the most detailed, dynamic view of the universe to date, according to a report by 'The Guardian'.
During just 10 hours of observations, the observatory detected 2,104 previously unknown asteroids in the solar system, including seven near-Earth objects—none posing a threat.
These images are the first from what astronomers believe will be a game-changing tool for cosmic discovery.
