Skin bank to be set up at City AIIMS: Nadda

Union Health’ Minister JP Nadda Saturday announced the setting up of Eastern India’s first government-run skin bank at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar.
Nadda made the announce-ment during a visit to the state’s premier health insti-tute, highlighting the facility’s significance in providing life-saving care for burn victims
“This crucial facility will col-lect skin from donors within six hours of death and provide life-saving skin grafts for acute burn patients, eliminating the current dependency on centres in Mum-bai and Bangalore,” he said.
He added, “This will not only improve survival outcomes but also significantly enhance the quality of life for patients in Odi-sha and neighbouring states.”
