Putin dials Modi; briefs him on Alaska summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Monday conveyed to President Vladimir Putin India's consistent position for a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict when the Russian leader apprised him on the summit talks he held with US President Donald Trump.

Trump and Putin met in Alaska for nearly three hours Friday but the much-anticipated summit ended without a ceasefire deal.

Following the phone conversation with Putin, Modi said India has consistently called for a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict and supports all efforts in this regard.
