Guv calls for study on increasing Gram Panchayats in Odisha

Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati Tuesday suggested the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water (PR&DW) department to undertake a comprehensive study of Gram Panchayats and revenue villages to explore the possibility of increasing the number of Gram Panchayats in the state.

Kambhampati made this suggestion during a review meeting on the overall activities of the PR&DW Department, held at the New Abhishek Hall in Raj Bhavan, The meeting was attended by Minister Rabi Narayan Naik, Commissioner-cum-Secretary Girish SN senior departmental officials, and Commissioner-cum-Secretary to the Governor, Roopa Roshan Sahoo.
