In an audacious attack on a senior government official in the Capital city that raises serious questions on the law and order situation, a group of hooligans allegedly assaulted Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officer and Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Additional Commissioner Ratnakar Sahoo before dragging him from his office Monday.
Sahoo has lodged an FIR at Kharvelnagar police station.
DCP Jagmohan Meena said three persons have been arrested so far on an FIR lodged by Sahoo at Kharvelnagar police station. “We have arrested Jeevan Rout, Rashmi Mahapatra and Debashis Pradhan. Further investigation is on. Involvement of other persons is being ascertained,” the DCP said. Incidentally, Jeevan is a BJP corporator from Ward No-29.
The accused have been charged, apart from other BNS Sections, with attempt to murdercase no 280/202.
