Apollo’s SMS for early stomach cancer detection

India’s leading cancer care network Apollo Cancer Centres (ACCs) Wednesday launched “Save My Stomach’ (SMS), an early detection programme aimed at increasing nationwide awareness on stomach cancer — often called a ‘silent killer’ due to its late-appearing symptoms.

The programme focuses on identifying high-risk individuals — especially men over 60, those with chronic gastritis, H pylori infection, obesity, smoking habits, pernicious anaemia, or diets high in salted or pickled foods — and offering structured screening that includes diagnostic endoscopy and biopsy.
