Confirmation that row of town centre shops will be demolished in just weeks

WORKS to demolish a row of old shops in Nuneaton town centre are set to start in just a matter of months.

The borough council has confirmed to the Nuneaton News that the shops at the top end of Bridge Street, which back onto the George Eliot Memorial Gardens, are set to go next month.

It has been a long time coming as they have stood empty for more than a year after the Town Hall told the businesses that they had to move as part of the ‘Bridge to Living’ project, which takes in part of Bridge Street, Church Street and the memorial gardens.
