BUS COMPANY ISSUES APOLOGY AFTER DRIVER REFUSED TO LET HIM TRAVEL
NOTTINGHAM City Transport has issued an apology to a disabled man after one of its drivers told him he didn’t have a permit allowing him to board the bus in his wheelchair.
James Ellis, from Beechdale, has since tried to raise awareness surrounding the difficulties of travelling with a disability after experiencing problems in both Nottingham and London.
Also known as TRF Wheelz, the 34-year-old was trying to board an NCT bus on April 29. After the driver had lowered the ramp, he told James that he wouldn't be able to board unless he showed him a permit for his wheelchair. James filmed the incident and later complained to NCT after posting the video to social media, where it amassed almost one million views.
